LOGO REVEAL!

The 2025 Sculptures on the Square committee is proud to share its logo for this year’s exhibition reflecting the theme, Sow & Grow.

“The 2025 Sculptures on the Square logo design was inspired by the clean lines and vibrant colors of the Sunrise, Sunset, High Noon mural by the late Aka Pereyma located on Prouty Plaza,” said Heather Taylor, designer. “The flower within the logo symbolizes the literal process of growth from seed to bloom, as well as the figurative growth, development, and contributions of the people and organizations within our community.”

This summer, Troy Main Street will once again bring Sculptures on the Square to downtown Troy. The 2025 Sculptures on the Square exhibition is the continuation of a very successful biennial promotional event that began in 2003.

Over the years, downtown Troy has hosted an impressive array of artworks through its Sculptures on the Square exhibit. This event has prominently shown the works of sculptor Seward Johnson on multiple occasions. Additionally, the exhibitions have invited local artists and community groups to participate, ranging from painting fiberglass planes to crafting door sculptures that reflect their respective organizations.

Notably, the 2015 installment of the exhibit included a striking 31-foot sculpture of President Abraham Lincoln, also by Seward Johnson. In 2017, the exhibit featured 30 vibrant steel bicycles created by artist Gilberto Aceves.

In 2021, Troy Main Street shifted its approach by inviting artists nationwide to submit sculptures under the theme "Taking Flight," resulting in 20 sculptures displayed across downtown Troy.

Continuing this tradition, the summer of 2023 saw Troy Main Street's exhibit themed "Wind and Water," featuring works by 25 sculptors, each exploring this elemental theme in their unique ways.

As we look forward to this summer, Troy Main Street is preparing another exciting exhibit. Sculptures on the Square will feature 19 artists from throughout the United States, each with a sculpture that reflects the theme, “Sow & Grow.”

“The Sculptures on the Square Committee has worked extremely hard to bring beauty to downtown Troy this summer”, said Chuck Karnehm, Chairman of Sculptures on the Square Committee. “Downtown will be blooming with 20 sculptures that will showcase the artist's expertise and imagination, and we are eager to share these wonderful sculptures with the City of Troy and the surrounding area."

More information about the 2025 Sculptures on the Square program will be coming soon. Sculptures on the Square is made possible through a generous grant from the General Fund and the Ruth Hollinger and J. Cameron Dungan Fund of The Troy Foundation as well as the generosity of sponsors.
