Lincoln Center Press Release

Career Move

Dear Supporters of the Lincoln Community Center Association,

Over the past 13 years as Executive Director, it has been an honor and privilege to lead the Lincoln Community Center Association. Together, we have developed over 60 programs and organized 10 major annual community collaboration events to serve the public.

In 2020, we launched a capital campaign that raised more than $5.5 million, enabling us to expand our facility by 21,803 square feet. This growth allowed us to introduce new programs and bring on additional staff, enhancing our ability to serve the community.

Our achievements have been possible thanks to unwavering community support, strong partnerships, collaboration, and the generosity of philanthropists and donors throughout Miami County. We have reached incredible heights and accomplished numerous goals to support the City of Troy and surrounding areas.

Working with the youth in the neighborhood and at the center where I grew up has been a dream come true. I am immensely proud that we rekindled the history and strong roots upon which this organization was built.

At the end of December 2024, I will be transitioning from my role as Executive Director of the community center, a moment that brings both sadness and celebration. I am deeply grateful for the dedicated team that will carry our mission forward with unwavering passion and commitment, ensuring that the spirit of our work continues to flourish in the community we’ve built together.

As I look forward to spending more time with my family and pursuing new professional opportunities, I am confident that the Lincoln Community Center will thrive in the years to come. Thank you for the incredible support and trust you have placed in me throughout this journey.

Warm regards,

Shane Carter

The Lincoln Community Center Board of Directors thanks Shane for serving as Executive Director for 13 years! The Center certainly would not be where it is today without him. Shane has impacted countless lives, been an amazing asset to the community, and has helped drive and build the wonderful $5.5 million dollar addition that will serve the LCC and community as a whole for years to come.

As we look to the future, the Board will be looking for the next Executive Director who can continue and grow the vision of LCC. We will share more details as they become available.
