Friday Night Movies at the Hayner Center Presents Thoroughly Modern Millie
Everyone needs something to do on a Friday night. Why not go to the movies? On Friday, April 10, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will present the 1967 musical comedy, Thoroughly Modern Millie. This free and open to the public showing includes an introduction to the film, café style seating, popcorn and soft drinks.
Directed by George Roy Hill, the musical is set in 1922. The film won an Oscar for Best Music - Original Music Score. Julie Andrews stars as Millie Dillmount, a girl who leaves Kansas for New York City in search of a secretarial job and an unattached boss. Millie moves into a hotel for women, run by kindly Mrs. Meers (Beatrice Lillie), and she befriends the pretty, orphan Dorothy Brown (Mary Tyler Moore).
This film is Rated G, however it addresses human trafficking.
